Properties: Antimicrobial, anti-allergenic, antiviral, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, diaphoretic, immuno-stimulant, vulnerary.  Echinacea root is often used as a natural antibiotic. Is thought to counter the effects of many poisons.  Can also be used as a detoxifying agent as well as an excellent immune stimulant.  Use to ward off colds and flu, may help also help to reduce the duration of colds and flu.  Helps to relieve swollen lymph nodes and sore throats.  Can be applied as a compress or wash to wounds, sores, burns and skin infections.  May also be useful after injury or surgery to help clean up damaged or dead tissue, clearing the way for the regrowth of healthy tissue.  

Use: Tea, tincture, decoction, syrup, vinegar, compress, poultice, soak, salve, liniment, honey.

Cautions: People with autoimmune conditions can experience a worsening of symptoms.
