Blends well with: Used often in perfumery as a fixative. Use in conifer or woody type and floral perfumes. Oakmoss will work with pretty much any other oil.
Properties/uses: Antiseptic, demulcent, expectorant, fixative. Oakmoss's primary use is a natural fixative in perfumes. That is it helps to stabilise and prolong the aroma of the perfume.
Energetics: May be used to help ground us to mother earth. May also help to reduce symptoms associated with stress and anxiety. May help us to heal from past traumas that prevent us from being fully present. Spiritually oakmoss can help us to open and trust in the safety and generosity of the universe.
Use: Massage, ointment, perfume, direct inhalation, diffuser, oil vaporiser, oil burner
Safety: Tisserand & Young state that the risk of skin sensitisation is high and should be avoided by those with hypersensitive, diseased or damaged skin and children under 2 years of age. They recommend a maximum dermal limit of 0.1%. Not recommended for use in a bath.
