Properties/Uses: Anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, chemoprotective, sedative, antidepressant, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, tonic, digestive. Sandalwood essential oil may be used to help treat skin inflammations, oily skin, acne, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, scalp irritations, varicose veins, swollen lymph nodes, help lymphatic and venous stasis, respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, dry coughs, colds, sore throat, tonsillitis, sinusitis, earaches, urinary tract infections. Sandalwood can help to aid the production of mucous which will moisten nasal cavities and may therefore be useful for dry nasal conditions and a dry irritated throat.
Energetics: Sandalwood essential oil may help relieve headaches, insomnia, nervous tension, fear, stress, depression, nervous exhaustion, obsessive thoughts or worry, irritation and aggression. It may help to promote openness, warmth and understanding, inner calm, intuition and insight.
